Maryland Coastal Bays Environmental Trip

The Maryland Coastal Bays Program has been protecting the pristine beauty of the coastal Ocean City region for more that 24 years.  On this trip, you’ll be joined by members of the Maryland Coastal Bays Program as you tour the Assawoman and Sinepuxent Bays.  You’ll have experts on the boat who will explain what the Maryland Coastal Bays Program is doing to preserve this natural treasure.  You’ll also learn about the incredible wildlife inhabiting the coastal bay region.

A highlight of this trip will be a stop at the amazing Assateague Island!  Here, you’ll see the famous wild ponies that occupy this island, and you’ll also have a hands-on opportunity to learn about the marine life inhabiting the waters around the island.  Get ready for an amazing learning adventure.  Don’t forget the camera and the kids!  Kids love this trip!

PLEASE NOTE: a portion of profits from this trip will go to support the Maryland Coastal Bays Program.

Departure Location - Please pay attention to the departure location that you select for this trip! This trip can be boarded at EITHER our Downtown Location (307 Dorchester Street) or in West OC (12817 Harbor Road next to Pier 23). Customers can choose either boarding location (see details about downtown location, below) BUT must be at the appropriate boarding location on time.

NOTE ON BOARDING THE BOAT DOWNTOWN: You will board the boat from a fixed dock. Depending on the tides, this can be a large step down into the boat. We are happy to assist but customers who are limited in mobility may find better options at a trip leaving from our "floating dock" location (West OC).

Bathrooms – Our Bay Hoppers do not have bathrooms onboard.  However, we do have a bathroom next to our location in West OC and downtown.

What To Bring – Depending on the weather, you should dress appropriately.  Things to consider bringing include sunscreen, drinks, a sweatshirt, and a camera.

Weather – Unless the weather poses a threat to the safety of our passengers (e.g., lightening, high winds) or the weather will make the trip extremely uncomfortable (e.g., heavy rain) the trip will proceed as scheduled.  If the Captain decides to cancel the trip due to the weather, then you will be notified, and your money refunded.
