Assateague Magic: Horses, Herons, & Happy Hour Cruise

Are you ready for an enchanting adventure? Step aboard the Bay Hopper and embark on a journey to the mystical Assateague Island, where wild ponies roam, majestic herons soar, and happy hour is always in full swing.

As we cruise to this enchanting island, keep your eyes peeled for the famous wild ponies. Did they swim here? Do they secretly moonlight as lifeguards? Your knowledgeable and wise captain will unravel these mysteries, sharing fascinating facts about the island and its incredible wildlife. Spoiler alert: you can’t pet or feed the ponies, but they sure do love posing for your photos!

But wait, there’s more! Our cruise offers a selection of delightful alcoholic drinks for sale, and guess what? Your first drink is on us! So, grab a cocktail, relax, and let the magic of Assateague Island wash over you. Sip your drink as you marvel at herons gliding gracefully above, and maybe even spot a dolphin or two playing in the waves.

Expectations

Departure Location - This trip leaves from 307 Dorchester Street, Ocean City, 21842.

NOTE ON BOARDING THE BOAT FROM DOWNTOWN: You will board the boat from a fixed dock. Depending on the tides, this can be a large step down into the boat.

Bathrooms – Our Bay Hoppers do not have bathrooms onboard.

What To Bring – Depending on the weather, you should dress appropriately. Things to consider bringing include sunscreen, some snacks, a sweatshirt, and camera.

Weather – Unless the weather poses a threat to the safety of our passengers (e.g., lightning, high winds) or the weather will make the trip extremely uncomfortable (e.g., heavy rain) the trip will proceed as scheduled. If the Captain decides to cancel the trip due to the weather, then you will be notified, and your money refunded.

TRIP MINIMUM – Please be aware that we cannot offer this trip if fewer that 4 people in total book for the occasion. We will notify you at least one hour before departure if we have not reached the minimum and offer to refund or rebook you on to another

About the Weather

Aligned with the goal of ensuring all OC Bay Hopper customers have a great experience, we will only run trips that are deemed safe by our Captains. Generally, the weather on the coastal bays of the Ocean City area is very pleasant but sometimes storms and thunderstorms do occur.

In the event that your trip is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. Sometimes, the weather conditions, particularly high winds causing choppy seas, will allow us to run a safe trip that is a bit unpleasant.

Our captains will always strive to let people know when conditions will be less than ideal and if conditions warrant a possible refund you may choose to not take the trip. (But sometimes those rough passages make for the best experiences!)
