Assateague: Your Private Beach

Each morning and afternoon our West OC Bayhopper will make a planned run between our West OC location, a drop off at the north end of Assateauge Island, pickups at the Glen Riddle Community and Ocean Pines Community, and a final stop at the brand new Embers Retail Center on 24th Street (with easy access to the north end of OC’s iconic Boardwalk!)

This trip is considered a “shuttle” run and is priced accordingly: Just $15/pp (one way) and $25/pp for a round trip. Get connected with our regularly scheduled shuttle between 118th street and Embers and move around Ocean City on the water!

Expectations

Departure Location - This trip departs from our West OC location at 12817 Harbor Road, Ocean City, 21842 promptly at 11am and 4pm every day.

Assateague Island – If you want to get off on Assateague and spend the day until our afternoon pick up you will disembark in shallow water (less than 2 feet) and get your feet wet. There is also a $10 park fee that we are required to collect.

Bathrooms – Our Bay Hoppers do not have bathrooms onboard. However, we do have a bathroom at our North OC kiosk

What To Bring – Depending on the weather, you should dress appropriately. Things to consider bringing include sunscreen, drinks, snacks, a towel, a sweatshirt, and a camera.

Weather – Unless the weather poses a threat to the safety of our passengers (e.g., lightening, high winds) or the weather will make the trip extremely uncomfortable (e.g., heavy rain) the trip will proceed as scheduled. If the Captain decides to cancel the trip due to the weather, then you will be notified, and your money refunded.

About the Weather

Aligned with the goal of ensuring all OC Bay Hopper customers have a great experience, we will only run trips that are deemed safe by our Captains. Generally, the weather on the coastal bays of the Ocean City area is very pleasant but sometimes storms and thunderstorms do occur.

In the event that your trip is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. Sometimes, the weather conditions, particularly high winds causing choppy seas, will allow us to run a safe trip that is a bit unpleasant.

Our captains will always strive to let people know when conditions will be less than ideal and if conditions warrant a possible refund you may choose to not take the trip. (But sometimes those rough passages make for the best experiences!)
