Stranded At Sea!

Step back in time and embark on a riveting maritime experience as Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum professionals share true accounts of shipwrecks and rescues. Uncover the gripping details of three 1880 shipwrecks off Ocean City and Assateague’s coast. With each shipwreck lies a rescue story. Discover how these seamen were pulled from high seas and brought to dry land! Passengers will get an up-close look at several authentic maritime artifacts from the Museum’s collection.

This trip departs from our downtown Ocean City headquarters at exactly the scheduled departure time. Arrive about 10 minutes early, and don't be late: our captains are under instructions NOT TO WAIT for late arrivals as this does not honor the time of those who came on time!

In early June and later August it can be a little cooler out on the water, but you will likely find this a sweet relief during the summer!

NOTE ON BOARDING THE BOAT FROM DOWNTOWN: You will board the boat from a fixed dock. Depending on the tides, this can be a large step down into the boat. We are happy to assist but customers who are limited in mobility may find better options at a trip leaving from one of our "floating dock" locations (118th Street and West OC).

Alcoholic beverages are available onboard for sale.

OC Bay Hopper Crabbing

Crabbing and eating these interesting creatures is a Maryland tradition.  If you've ever wondered how to catch a blue crab or how to eat them then this is the trip for you!  Likewise, if you grew up eating crabs and want a taste of the past or would like to give your kids some of the great memories you have then this trip is a must.

On this trip, your captain - a seasoned seaman and crabber – will guide you to some of the hottest spots on the Bay for catching crabs.  Your sneaky captain will have already dropped some crab pots in his favorite crabbing locations so that by the time you reach them they'll already have a bunch of delicious creatures crawling around inside.

Once anchored, you’ll be recruited to help haul in the bounty!  The captain will teach you everything you need to know about crabs – including how to cook and eat them.  This is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty.

When you depart the boat at the end of the trip, your captain will divide up the bounty amongst all who want to devour them – which is typically everyone.  This trip is a big hit with the kids!
