Calling all OC Captains! Join representatives from both the MD Department of Natural Resources and Maryland Coastal Bays Program on this absolutely free trip. OC Bay Hopper- in partnership with MD Coastal Bay Program- is offering this cruise to any licensed captain that intends to drive a commercial boat this coming summer. Learn about the natural wildlife of the area, interesting historical facts about the region and  more about the coastal bays ecosystem. We will also review rules and guidelines regarding safe distances to view nature. Meet fellow captains, swap your best OC captaining stories, and most importantly: begin to build relationships with everyone serving tourists and guests so we can work in conjunction and have a great, profitable, and safe summer!

This trip will leave the OC Bay Hopper Kiosk on 117th street (right next to the Food Lion) promptly at 9:30am. There is plenty of parking at our location. The boat will proceed down to Ocean City's Harbor to pick up additional captains and our tour guides at approximately 10:15am. We will cruise along Assateague Island for about 75-90 minutes before returning back to the dock (first back to West OC Harbor and our drop off spot (Mad Fish- even during the construction) and then back to 117th street- likely around 12:15pm/12:30pm.

Aligned with the goal of ensuring all OC Bay Hopper customers have a great experience, we will only run trips that are deemed safe by our Captains. Generally, the weather on the coastal bays of the Ocean City area is very pleasant but sometimes storms and thunderstorms do occur.

In the event that your trip is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. Sometimes, the weather conditions, particularly high winds causing choppy seas, will allow us to run a safe trip that is a bit unpleasant.

Our captains will always strive to let people know when conditions will be less than ideal and if conditions warrant a possible refund you may choose to not take the trip. (But sometimes those rough passages make for the best experiences!)
